1. OVERALL PLANS
A Areas which could contain looted items
Fine Art
B Areas excluded and why
The majority of the RAF Museum's collections relate to the history of the RNAS, RFC and RAF, and in consequence are of largely British origin. Those objects of German origin or from German sources pertaining to the 1933-1945 period tend to comprise material produced by the Nazi regime and would not be subject to spoliation.
C Target areas and timetable for researchResearch conducted between 1999 and 2007 concluded that the RAF Museum did not hold any objects suspected of falling under spoliation. Provenance research was conducted on seven initially suspect items but none were found to be subject to spoliation.
In 2007 the Museum's Acquisition and Disposal Policy was amended to ensure due diligence is maintained in dealing with objects suspected of being subject to spoliation.
