Entry charges at the Royal Cornwall Museum could be a step closer after the sale of two paintings fell short of their £3 target, trustees admitted this week.
The works Sea Maiden by Herbert Draper and Bondage by Ernest Normand raised £2.1 million at auction at Christie's and by Private Sale.Trustees had hoped the sale would raise enough to fund a £120,000 a year.However, at best the museum will make £84,000 a year. Read the full article
